Grading Criteria

Grading Criteria lie at the heart of assessment and are a way of articulating and communicating the levels of attainment that are expected from both formative and summative assessments and mapping them to particular grade bands.

The University is committed to promoting excellence in assessment and feedback. Specifically, UPR AS13 states that:

Guidance about producing grading criteria and examples of criteria in use can be found in our 'Guidance, Resources and Toolkits' section within the 'Assessment and Feedback' folder.

 The University uses one of three grading scales alongisde the Grade Point Average and these can be found in UPR14  with the associated descriptorss,  summarised in the excerpt below.
