The University recognises continuous professional development as both an entitlement for staff and an expectation. Identifying that learning and teaching related CPD opportunities (and expectations) were very clear for new members of staff but not obvious for experienced staff we have recently developed a CPD booklet ‘Enhancing Education Practice – CPD embedded in your professional life at the University of Hertfordshire’ which articulates the offering of education related CPD for staff at different stages of their academic careers. We have also developed learning landscapes which provide examples of CPD for staff new to teaching in HE; staff with 3-6 years’ experience in HE; and staff with over 6 years’ experience in HE.
